Role Overview
Infinitive is seeking a Recruiter with experience in hiring Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineering talent for Data Center Operations. This recruiter will support our Data Center Operations (DCO) practice by identifying and hiring top-tier candidates for highly specialized critical-facility roles that keep data centers running safely, efficiently, and at scale.
This role requires strong technical understanding of facility power, cooling, electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and mission-critical infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Strategy
Own full-cycle recruitment for Data Center Mechanical & Electrical Operations roles, including:
Electrical Engineers (Data Center, Critical Facilities)
Mechanical Engineers (HVAC, Cooling, Chillers)
Facility Engineers & Technicians (M/E)
Critical Facility Managers / Site Engineers
Building Management System (BMS) & EPMS Specialists
UPS, Generator, and Power Distribution Technicians
HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, and Cooling Plant Technicians
Commissioning Engineers (Cx)
Lead intake sessions to define technical must-haves, key certifications, shift/on-call expectations, clearance requirements, and operational context for each role.
Ensure job descriptions, interview scorecards, and evaluation criteria align with Infinitive’s talent, quality, and culture standards.
Sourcing & Talent Pipelines
Build deep, sustained talent pipelines for critical mechanical and electrical engineering roles within hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers.
Apply advanced sourcing techniques and technical keyword strategies (e.g., MOP/SOP/EOP, NFPA 70E, PLC, SCADA, thermodynamics, single-line diagrams).
Identify candidates with experience in:
Mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH)
Electrical systems (UPS, switchgear, PDUs, breakers, power distribution)
Operations and maintenance in mission-critical environments
Incident response, safety protocols, and compliance
Maintain pipelines for cleared and non-cleared candidates.
Candidate Evaluation & Engagement
Conduct high-quality technical screens with the ability to assess foundational and advanced M&E engineering knowledge, including:
Reading and interpreting electrical one-line diagrams
Mechanical system troubleshooting
MOP/SOP/EOP creation and execution
Root-cause analysis on facility incidents
Environmental monitoring (BMS/EPMS, SCADA)
Power load balancing and thermal management
Validate candidate experience with shift-based work, on-call rotations, escalation procedures, and uptime/availability expectations.
Deliver a consultative, empathetic candidate experience that reflects Infinitive’s values.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of recruiting experience focused on Data Center Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or Critical Facilities Operations roles.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in mission-critical environments.
Ability to effectively engage with engineers, technicians, facility managers, and commissioning professionals.
Demonstrated success recruiting for high-urgency, high-availability operational roles.
Excellent communication, technical curiosity, and ability to translate complex engineering requirements into clear hiring criteria.
Experience working in consulting, MSP, hyperscale, or fast-growing engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting data center programs for AWS, Azure, Google, Meta, or large colocation providers.
Familiarity with commissioning (Cx), energy optimization, ASHRAE guidelines, and NFPA standards.
- Experience recruiting both contractors and full-time staff.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
